Hallingskeidvegen from Osa up into the high mountains to Hallingskeid is an exciting and demanding historic hiking route. The path has been used for travel since ancient times and now holds the status of a historic hiking route as part of a collaboration between the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) and the Directorate for Cultural Heritage to preserve and raise awareness of old travel routes.
Stone staircases are said to have been built in the area marked on the map, but it's uncertain how long this section is. Tips are appreciated.
The route from Osa to Hallingskeid is 19.4 km long. The route marked on the map here only goes as far as Ossete.
