810 steps lead you straight up the hillside from Dalen to Rui-plassen
Beintsteberg starts in the center of Dalen in Tokke municipality — a steep stone staircase that winds its way up the hillside, with 810 steps and 200 meters of elevation gain up to Rui-plassen. The name means "the most direct way up the mountain," and the staircase was completed in 2018.
The stone used is local quartz schist from the Eidsborg area. This is also said to be one of Norway's oldest export products, back then as a whetstone/grindstone.
Round trip to Rui-plassen is about 1.4 km and 200 meters of elevation gain.
This staircase's position hasn't been registered yet.
