Bløkallen (Midsundtrappene)

Near Midsund, just west of Molde, sherpa staircases have been built on a large scale. As many as 6 staircases have been built in this town of around 600 residents. Staircases have been built up to Aksla, Kumlokket, Bløkallen, Midsundhornet, Digergubben, and Rørsethornet. The last of these is the longest and perhaps the most spectacular. In total, more than 8,000 steps are said to have been built across the island community.

The staircase climbs to about 390 m. Here a rest area has been established, named Karl-Johans plass. From this point it's too steep for a regular staircase, so a chain has been installed and metal rungs drilled into the rock.

The round trip is about 5.2 km and 510 meters of elevation gain.
