NOTE: THE STAIRCASE IS CLOSED
Fykantrappa is a wooden staircase from 1916-1919 built by navvies. The staircase was built to give workers easier access to the mountain during the construction of Glomfjord power station. Different sources vary in reporting the number of steps, with both 1129 and 1132 mentioned.
The wooden staircase was a popular hiking attraction until it was closed in 2020. Poor condition and unstable rock blocks above the staircase were the reason. They have since said it will never reopen as long as it remains in Statkraft's ownership and under their responsibility.
