There are three different routes up Lihesten from the south. On two of them, sherpa staircases have been built in the steepest sections. One sherpa staircase leads toward Risnesnipa, and the other goes toward 3L-stølane, from where you can continue on to Gygrekjeften. The third option up is an even steeper path where, among other things, metal rungs have been drilled into the rock to form a sort of ladder, along with chains laid out in the steepest sections.
Uncertain whether there is more than one staircase section, and how long the staircase is. Tips are appreciated. There are also said to be wooden footbridges laid out in several places along the path going up.
The loop is about 11 km with 740 meters of elevation gain.
This staircase's position hasn't been registered yet.
