We've chosen to include some staircases that aren't "classic sherpa staircases", since wood and metal staircases can obviously serve the same purpose — making it easier for people to get up into the mountains. Vegatrappa and Midnattsoltrappa are good examples of staircases that do the same job as a "classic sherpa staircase", just in wood.

Hammarslian is a stone staircase with about 450 steps in Brønnøy municipality in Nordland. Some sources say the staircase dates from the 1800s, while others say the early 1900s. The steps are narrow and are starting to show their age.
Since there are few paths shown on the map, the route and staircase are only roughly drawn in.
The hike is said to be about 8.5 km round trip.
