Helgelandstrappa is the world's longest stone staircase, with a full 4055 steps. The staircase winds its way from the Vefsna river at 4 meters above sea level to the top of Stortuva at 818 meters. Queen Sonja was present at the official opening on July 6, 2019, but construction continued until 2023.
The hike is about 6.7 km and 810 meters of elevation gain, round trip.
