Prestholtstien, leading up toward Hallingskarvet, was built by sherpas in 2013. The hike starts at Prestholtseter, 1,242 meters above sea level, and takes you up Prestholtskardet to the mighty Hallingskarvet.
From the top of the staircase you can continue on to Prestholtskarvet at 1,859 meters above sea level, where the view is fantastic on clear days. The round trip is about 9 km and 640 meters of elevation gain.
It's uncertain whether the number of steps is accurate, but it's often said to be around 2,500.
Prestholtseter runs as a café and is open during the summer.
This staircase's position hasn't been registered yet.
