Risnesnipa (Lihesten)

There are three different routes up Lihesten from the south. On two of them, sherpa staircases have been built on the steepest sections. One sherpa staircase leads toward Risnesnipa, and the other goes toward 3L-stølane, from where you can continue on to Gygrekjeften. The third option up is an even steeper trail where, among other things, metal rungs have been drilled into the rock to form a kind of ladder, along with chains laid out on the steepest sections.

As far as I can tell, the staircase itself up to Risnesnipa is divided into two sections. Wooden boardwalks have also been laid out in a few places. Uncertain how long the staircases are and how many steps there are. The staircases may be drawn somewhat incorrectly on the map. Tips are appreciated.

The Havørn accident was Norway's first civilian scheduled-flight accident. The accident happened on 16 June 1936. The plane flew straight into the mountainside, about 100 meters below Risnesnipa. All 7 aboard lost their lives.

The round trip is about 8.5 km and 800 meters of elevation gain.
