Rørsethornet (Midsundtrappene)

At Midsund, just west of Molde, sherpa staircases have been built on a large scale. As many as 6 staircases have been built in the village, which has around 600 residents. Staircases have been built up to Aksla, Kumlokket, Bløkallen, Midsundhornet, Digergubben, and Rørsethornet. The latter is the longest and perhaps the most spectacular. In total, more than 8,000 steps are said to have been built in this island community.

The continuous staircase up to Rørsethornet (659 meters above sea level) is the best known of the staircases at Midsund. The staircase winds along the spectacular ridge up toward the summit, which can feel exposed for some. The hike offers fantastic views the whole way.

The round trip is about 4.8 km and 630 meters of elevation gain.
