Staircase facts
The staircase in Tromsdalen is mostly just called "Sherpatrappa" and is a stone staircase with 1,203 steps. It was built in several phases from 2016 until it was completed in 2019.
The trail starts down in Tromsdalen and winds its way up to Storsteinnen. Several rest stops have been provided along the way.
At the time of writing, it isn't possible to park at the lower Fjellheisen cable car station due to construction work.
Round trip from the designated parking area is about 4.5 km with 420 metres of elevation gain.
