Sherpa staircases to the highest point in Tysnes municipality
Tell us about the hike and add photos — it only takes a minute.
Tysnessåta is the highest mountain on the island of Tysnes, south of Bergen. Sherpa staircases have been built in certain sections up the mountain. In total there are said to be 1,000+ steps. The staircase was officially opened on 11 July 2024.
The staircase isn't drawn completely accurately on the map, and it's uncertain how long it is and how many steps it has in total. I'd appreciate any tips.
Round trip about 4 km with 525 metres of elevation gain.
