Andørjatrappa (Vasskartinden)

Andørjatrappa, leading up to Vasskartinden at 1,140 metres above sea level on Andørja in Ibestad, is under construction by sherpas from Nepal.

The project started in 2021 and is expected to be finished in 2027. The trail will be a combination of stone staircases and natural path where possible. The staircase is divided into five construction stages; in summer 2026 the hope is to finish stage three and begin stage four. The project has secured funding through stage four and is seeking sponsors for the fifth.

The staircase's location on the map isn't precise. I'd appreciate any tips.

Round trip to Vasskartinden is about 9.4 km with 1,040 metres of elevation gain.
