Aims to build a staircase up one of Europe's tallest waterfalls.
Tell us about the hike and add photos — it only takes a minute.
Vinnutrappa is a staircase project under construction in Sunndal municipality by Vinnufossen, one of Europe's tallest waterfalls. The first phase of the project began in 2022, with the goal of reaching about 420 metres above sea level. Phase 1 is fully funded. Phase 2 depends on further funding and aims to reach 815 metres above sea level.
The staircase is open to the public and currently goes up to about 270 metres above sea level.
NOTE: Drones are prohibited on the staircase due to the small airport to the east.
